Coming in March and April: Share a Life-Changing Book!  Author Visit!

Posted: March, 2017

Continuing in the “Tale For Three Counties” tradition, Yates Community Library will be presenting a book chosen especially for readers of our local area, which will culminate in an engaging talk by the author on Thursday, April 27, at 7:00 PM.

QUEEN OF THE BREMEN is the true account by Rochesterian Marlies Adams DiFante, of her family’s detainment in Nazi Germany during World War II.  Find a copy to borrow here at the library, and be drawn into DiFante’s memoir of hunger, separation, fear, and torment during her very young years.

If you’d like to join in a casual discussion of the book, you’re welcome to come to the library on Monday, April 10, at 6:30 PM for one.   As a special part of this project, DiFante will meet early in the day on April 27 with select Lyndonville Central School classes who are currently studying her book.  She and her husband will be guests at a lunch at the school to honor student winners of a writing contest having to do with the book.

Then, everyone is invited to come to the library at 7:00 PM on April 27 to personally meet Mrs. DiFante and hear her speak about her experiences.  This project is being funded by a special grant obtained for the library by State Senator Rob Ortt, for which we’re most grateful.
