Genealogy Research

Researching your ancestry takes time and patience. While we are not staffed to find the information for you, we can certainly help by guiding you to the sources that may help.

In-Library resources

If you are looking for family information from the Lyndonville locality, start searching in our local history collection.

Available on microfilm is the Lyndonville Enterprise dating from 1906-1962.

As a reminder, Reference materials do not circulate and remain in the library for use, but they can be photocopied.

If you can’t visit the library

The Library is staffed to provide limited research for users unable to visit the Library in person. To obtain research assistance, please send or email a detailed list of the items you require. Genealogy requests should include names, complete dates, locations and other information that will aid in our search. Written requests may be faxed (585) 765-9527, mailed to the library, or emailed to: ecebula@nioga.org. The base fee for a simple reference request, looking up newspaper obituaries or city directory listings is $5.00 plus postage and a 25¢ photocopy charge per page under ten pages or a reduced cost of 10¢ per page for copies exceeding ten pages.

Written requests may be sent to:
